Spurn Point a truly
unique place in England.
Situated on the North
bank of the entrance to
the River Humber. A
beautiful place for bird
watching, sea fishing,
walking or just a day
out with the family.
With
Spurn being a nature
reserve, unfortunately
there are no Dogs allowed at all.
The Humber Bridge.
Until recently the
bridge linking the north
and south banks of the
River Humber was the
longest single span
suspension bridge in the
world. Construction on
the bridge began in 1972
and the bridge opened to
traffic in 1981.
SOME dubbed it the
"Eighth Wonder of the
World" - others were
less kind. But few would
argue about the amazing
engineering feat that is
the Humber Bridge. It
took more than 100 years
to build it. Decades of
wrangling in the town
and county halls ~ and
even Parliament ~
finally ending on April
30, 1969.
